As of 1930... 1. John Hatch House – owner F. B. Smith of Bermuda. Rented by John Bedford (grave digger) and Wood family. This house had a general store and post office operated by the Hatch family earlier. Later owned by Jessie Puff. 2. Jepthia Crans – owned by F. B. Smith, unoccupied winter, used as summer house. Later owned by Jessie Puff. 3. Martin Carmody (blacksmith) – owned by James Angus. His family lived in one part, his father-in-law James Casterline in other end. 4. Horatio Deyo – rented to MacBride Bedford, stripped paper roof put on 1929. Matthews family and Edgar Wauser have lived in the house during the past few years and paid very little rent. This house was sold to James Casterline during 1930 for mortgage. He sold the front door and mantle for $90.00 5. Egbert Sherwood – occupied by his widow, now Mrs. William Hammill. Heard her husband is in Canada continuing his studies. They were married last year. Have not met him yet. Jessie Puff later owned this house. 6. Alexander C. Sloat – sold to John Illenberg about 1902, for $800. Now occupied by Cora Illenberg Honeck. 7. Daniel Clark House – just sold by administrator of Percy Wilkin estate. [illiegible] to Jessie Puff for $880. Rented to Roland Schoonmaker in 1931. Later sold to Homer Nutt family. 8. Lee Jennings Property – owned and occupied by Mrs. Eva Cortright for many years. Jessie Puff later owned this house. 9. David B. Scott Property – Sold to Dr. Santee for doctor bill about $120. Owned by the Wells Estate for a summer house. 10. Dr. Smiley House – owned by Fred Lybolt for perhaps $150 or a little more. Rented to Leo Calligan 1931. This house sold to Charles Hasbrouck, father of John Hasbrouck. 11. George Houston Farm – owned by John B. Hasbrouck. He lives in east end. His father Charles D. Hasbrouck lives in west end. C.D.H. is now able to be about after operation in September for appendicitis. He was in bed from Nov. 1928. All that winter with Pneumonia. 12. Boak Sisters – James Scott property, owned and occupied by George L. Casterline. Brother of James. Purchased for about $2500 about 1921. 13. Sinsabaugh Property – Edward Bogardus home, sold to Harold E. Wilkin. He has Delco plant for lights and a fine home. 14. Dr. Santee House – Oscar Prince owner for $3500. Mrs. Charles Weyant renter, moved to New York City for the winter. Jessie Puff has mortgage on this property. This house and Wilkin House have furnaces. This house is not being well kept up. Later Jessie Puff owned this house. 9-5-89 Rev. Alexander James Kerr was Pastor of Pastor of the Presbyterian Church Scotchtown at this time. He made the statement that if he was rich he would like to give the village a coat of paint as all the houses were without paint at that time. His annual salary was $900 and he was several months behind receiving it. A copy of this map and
